The Melling M84AHV oil pump is a high volume, standard pressure oil pump that offers improved resistance against cavitation at higher RPMs. The cast aluminum housing is CNC machined and hardcoat anodized. The cast iron cover is CNC machined and phosphate coated. The relief valve features a screw in valve plug. Factory OEM oil pumps can suffer from cavitation at higher revs, which results in reduced oil flow. This cavitation can also aerate the oil, which causes drops in oil pressure and can result in oil starvation. Engines that run at higher rpm’s should use an upgraded Melling pump to prevent these issues.

The pumps are built using a proprietary casting process, which yields maximum performance and reliability. Every Melling oil pump is completely pressure tested, including idle and bypass pressure, before it leaves the factory.
